Paid MCP servers that accept USDC: x402 pay-per-call MCP tools for AI agents
Updated 2026-10-22
A paid MCP server is a Model Context Protocol server whose tools cost money per call. With x402, the server answers a tool call with a payment request, the agent pays a few cents or less in USDC, and the tool runs. No account, subscription or API key is needed.
Below are the services in our directory that offer MCP access and take crypto payments. Each one is a verified YourAITools listing (live payment terms checked on the date shown), and its own homepage mentioned MCP when we fetched it on 2026-10-22. The descriptions come from each provider’s own site. They are listed alphabetically, and none of them paid to be here.
MCP servers and tools you can pay per call
Prices are per call, from each provider’s 402 terms or listing. Many of these services expose dozens of tools at different prices, so the range covers all of them.

Charge for your own MCP server
These listings help you put a price on MCP tools you run yourself, rather than selling tools of their own.
- AgentPay: Budget caps, cost estimates and session receipts for MCP servers and AI agents, enforced at the payment layer.
- Nevermined: Payments infrastructure for AI agents: metering, billing and settlement across MCP, x402 and A2A; compatible with x402, MPP and AP2.
- Pocket Network: Network where developers publish data APIs and are paid onchain per request by AI agents and MCP clients.
- Vercel x402-mcp: Vercel's x402-mcp package integrating x402 payments with Model Context Protocol servers and the Vercel AI SDK, so MCP tools can charge per call.
Once your server charges per call, get it in front of agents: see where to list an x402 API.
Our own MCP servers (disclosed)
We run ten small x402 APIs, and each has a free remote MCP server (preview tier) plus a local npm MCP package, with full results paid per call in USDC on Base. They are listed on our Built by us page and are not ranked with the tools above. Examples: StackDetect (what a website is built with), WebRead (URL to Markdown) and PayGuard (OFAC wallet screening).
Use from code: tested examples connect all nine servers to an OpenAI Agents SDK agent (Python) and a Vercel AI SDK agent (JavaScript). Walkthrough: add x402 trust checks to OpenAI Agents SDK and Vercel AI SDK agents.
How paying for an MCP tool works
- Your agent calls a paid tool on the MCP server.
- The server replies with x402 payment terms: price, network (often Base), token (usually USDC) and the
payToaddress. - An x402-capable client signs a USDC payment for exactly that amount, within the spending limit you set.
- The server checks the payment through a facilitator and returns the tool result.
Set a per-call spending cap in your client, and only fund the agent’s wallet with what you are willing to spend. New to x402? Start with what is x402 and how to pay for an API with USDC.
How to choose
- One server or many tools. Aggregators (one MCP endpoint with many tools) save setup time. Single-purpose servers are easier to reason about and to cap.
- Free tier. Some servers have free discovery or preview tools. Try those before you fund a wallet.
- Network fit. Check that the server accepts payment on a network where your agent holds USDC.
- Trust. Tool descriptions are text that your agent reads. Treat a new server like any other dependency, and screen what it returns. See prompt-injection scanning.
